CDIM formed in 2016 in San Francisco, California in response to opportunities created by firm consolidation in our industry and growing demand for client-centered technical consulting. We provide environmental engineering services to construction, development, industrial and municipal clients.
Scott Bourne, PE
President and Principal Engineer
Scott Bourne is CDIM’s president and founder. Scott is a registered California civil (#C72817) and chemical (#CH6191) engineer with over twenty years of civil and environmental engineering experience. Scott formed CDIM to provide environmental engineering services to construction, development, industrial and municipal clients. Scott specializes in supporting clients in civil engineering, contaminant remediation, storm water management, and regulatory compliance. He is skilled in regulatory negotiations, acquiring environmental and development permits and designing/building various types of water treatment systems. Scott has excellent working relationships with management and staff at most SF Bay Area regulatory agencies. He is an active member of the San Francisco environmental engineering community, where he regularly presents on storm water, contamination and regulatory matters.
Mary Cunningham, PE
Senior Project Engineer
Mary Cunningham is CDIM’s operations manager and co-founder. Mary is a registered California civil engineer (#C82789) with fifteen years of civil and environmental engineering experience. Prior to joining CDIM, she worked at multiple environmental engineering firms providing project-level field, engineering and regulatory services. She currently provides technical support to all CDIM’s clients including engineering design, environmental management system development, and site investigation services. She also oversees CDIM’s field services. Mary is skilled in data and graphic analysis, including creating engineering plans, figures and maps.
Kylie Cush, PG
Project Geologist
Kylie Cush is a Project Geologist and registered Professional Geologist in the State of California with over six years of experience in environmental consulting. She is skilled in site assessments, subsurface investigation, industrial water-supply development, remedial design and implementation, non-hazardous and hazardous waste disposal, and subcontractor and construction management. Her environmental sampling experience includes air, soil vapor, soil, and groundwater sampling. Her project management experience includes cost estimating, proposal preparation, health and safety oversight, and technical document preparation.
Lisa Kappler
Project Scientist
Lisa Kappler is a Project Scientist with over six years of experience in environmental consulting. She is skilled in non-hazardous and hazardous waste management, industrial storm water, spill prevention, control and countermeasure, hazard assessments, subsurface investigation, and construction management. Lisa applies this experience by providing support on CDIM’s projects, including proposal preparation, field work planning, health and safety oversight, compliance inspections, air quality monitoring, soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling, data analysis and technical report preparation.
Hamed Nazar, Ph.D.
Project Engineer
Hamed Nazar is a Project Engineer with over five years of experience in environmental research and consulting. He specializes in environmental pollution, monitoring, and assessment of surface and groundwater resources, sediment, soil, and plants. Holding a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, he brings scientific expertise and proven capabilities in data analysis and interpretation, as well as technical report writing in the field of environmental pollution and remediation. Hamed provides support for CDIM’s projects including technical analysis and studies, data evaluation, technical report preparation, planning field activities and sample collection, environmental compliance inspections, and cost estimation.
Brian Price, MS
Senior Staff Engineer
Brian Price received a BS with honors in Environmental Sciences and an MS in Environmental Engineering, both from the University of California, Berkeley. His academic experience includes a thesis which examined stormwater runoff abatement through low-impact development projects on the Berkeley campus. Prior to joining CDIM, he gained experience in environmental due diligence consulting, site assessment, and remediation at a mid-sized environmental and geotechnical consulting firm. Brian’s primary responsibilities include the development of field activity protocols, coordination and oversight of subcontractors, sample collection, and preparation of data and technical reports. He also assists with stormwater, hazardous material, hazardous waste, and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure compliance inspections.
John Robertshaw, EIT
Senior Staff Engineer
John Robertshaw is a senior staff engineer with a BS in environmental engineering from Bucknell University. John’s education involved engaging with the physical/engineering, environmental, economic, social, and financial implications for various project case studies, and he has developed desirable systematic proposals through collaboration with clients and stakeholders. John applies this experiencing by provide creative and collaborative solutions in support of CDIM’s project managers and clients on a wide range of environmental projects. John provides support on all of CDIM’s field projects, including air quality monitoring, soil and groundwater sampling, and compliance inspections.
Chris Taylor, PE
Senior Project Engineer
Chris Taylor, PE is a dedicated and results-oriented California civil engineer (#64812) with a highly successful background in infrastructure planning and design. He has over 20 years’ experience both as the sole engineer-in-charge, and working with design teams, with the primary focus on exceeding expectations for clients while ensuring technical excellence. Chris supports CDIM clients by providing engineering design services for storm water treatment, grading, drainage, utilities and paving. Chris is skilled at developing construction documents for environmental and civil projects. He prides himself on excellent interpersonal communication, project management skills, and the ability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial internal and external relationships.
