Permitting for Facility Redevelopment
A CDIM Principal assisted a metal processing facility to obtain necessary permits to resume solder dross recycling operations after a catastrophic fire. Environmental requirements were established in concert with the owner and a team of engineers and consultants. The scope of work included design review, obtaining a Standardized Permit from the CalEPA Department of Toxic Substances control for hazardous waste treatment and storage, ATC/PTO from the local air quality management district for particulate and toxic air contaminant emissions, HMBP permit from the local CUPA for hazardous materials storage, and obtaining CEQA clearance via mitigated negative declaration from DTSC, who was lead agency for the project.
Project Highlights:
- Establish environmental requirements for new construction
- Obtain regulatory clearances from SCAQMD, DTSC, and local municipality
- Work with engineers and contractors to construct facility
